Christian Living Academy

9:30 Songs of Praise

9:45 to 10:45am

Dido United Methodist Church launches the Christian Living Academy on September 20, 2009. We all face challenges to our faith daily. How are we to know the right thing to do? How can our beliefs influence the decisions we make and the direction we take? Children, youth and adults all need guidance and encouragement on the walk of discipleship and through the Christian Living Academy we will give and receive the guidance we need to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ throughout life.

Children will experience the power of Bible based lessons designed to nurture them in the faith as they grow in knowledge about God’s love for us in Jesus Christ. The multi-sensory approach to story telling and faith sharing will challenge and inspire children from K-5th grade to be disciples for Jesus Christ.

Youth will meet in the Youth room following the morning singing to study topics from the Bible, everyday life and social issues. Through discussion, videos, and music, we will explore how to live as a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ.

Adults will choose from three studies groups. Pathfinders, Pastor’s Bible Study and The Way. The New Horizons group meets in the choir room to engage in a topic-based discussion. Most members of the New Horizons group are 55 and older.

"Pastor's Bible Study” is a Bible based study that meets in the Pastor’s Study. The class is reading though the Bible, from the Genesis to Revelation series. All ages welcome.

The Way, a new class designed to approach issues of daily life from a Christian perspective. Parenting, decision-making, financial management, service, and relationship are among the topics we will explore together. This class will meet in the Fellowship Hall around the fireplace. Expect lively discussion and insights for living a purposeful life.
