Amy Forsythe
Amy
Forsythe considers herself truly blessed to serve as the youth and
children’s pastor for the Dido United Methodist church family. She is a
native Texan who was raised in Friendswood, as the oldest child of Tracy and
Terri Forsythe, and sister to Lacie and Zane.
After graduating from high
school in 2001, Amy moved five hours away from home to attend the University
of North Texas, where she majored in journalism and minored in English. She
received her B.A. in May 2005 and soon began the complex but rewarding
journey of discerning her call to ministry. This eventually led to her
acceptance to Brite Divinity School, where she is currently pursuing her
Master of Divinity. Amy is also in the candidacy process, with the eventual
goal of ordination in the United Methodist Church. She is thankful to spend
such formative years in the caring environment of Dido, which strives to be
a teaching church.
A bookworm at heart, Amy
enjoys reading, writing, and photography. She also has a self-proclaimed
addiction to flip flops, as well as a deep-rooted love for the beach. Most
importantly, she will never pass up an invitation to share a bowl of queso.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” –Proverbs 3:5-6
